1982 Royal Copenhagen Christmas plate, designed by Kaj Lange, has the title Waiting for Christmas. Royal Copenhagen’s Christmas plate from 1982 is a continuation of the story told by the three previous plates. This plate depicts the lull, full of anticipation, before the family festivities – which in Denmark begin on Christmas Eve- start. The hurry and bustle of busy preparation is over. For the children there is nothing left to do but wait.The little girl has thoughtfully put her teddy bear down where he can enjoy the Christmas tree, while she passes the time looking at a hare, that has come close to the house i search for food. In a few hours the many expectations, talked about for endless weeks, will be fulfilled. The Christmas cup carries the same motif as the plate, which accordingly can be used as a side plate and a wall ornament.
